Sapphire Diamond Ring

Question: A sz 5 blue sapphire & diamond ring 14k white gold needs to be sized size 10 ring is this?

If you are asking if it is possible the answer is yes. The jeweler would probably do one of two things. 1. Cut the shank of the ring and put in a piece to make it the proper size. 2. Reset the ring in the proper size ring. This would be possible if it is a common setting. If it is an unusual setting then adding to the shank would probably be the option. If it is an older ring and not an heirloom or one that has sentimental value now would be the time to update the setting.

Is it possible.... most likely yes. Some settings take to being sized better then others, though. Channel set bands, or tension mounted stones, generally cannot be sized up or down more then 1-2 sizes, as to go further then that can seriously jeopardize the stability of the ring. Also, bear in mind that that kind of sizing will be quite a bit more expensive. A jeweler will not be able to heat the gold and stretch it out, like he would if you were just stepping up a size. You will have to pay for the additional gold, plus the time and labor involved in adding it in to the existing shank. When in doubt, take it to an independent jeweler, and get an estimate for all work involved first.
