Question: How can i tell a good quality aquamarine gemstone ring from another?

Im buying a ring, with an aquamarine gemstone and want to know how I can tell a good quality stone from another? Are they measured in carats? How many carats would a good quality aquamarine be?

I know that the more blue the aquamarine is, the better quality it is. Any tinges of green in the stone make it less desirable. Also really light blue, almost clear stones are not worth as much...

It 's not really considered a precious gemstone - it is just another form of the common stone beryl - as long as the ring is pretty and you like it, 'quality ' should be saved for better investment jewellery
