Diamond Ring

Question: How can you get a diamond ring that isn't a blood diamond?

If any of you have seen the movie & quot;Blood Diamond& quot; then you& #039;ll know what I& #039;m talking about. My boyfriend is (I think) getting me an engagement ring or a promise ring next month cuz he was hinting it a lot today. I just want to let him know that if he is planning on getting me a ring to ensure it& #039;s not a blood diamond, but how does one know for sure? Is there proof?

When buying jewelry with diamond(s) ask to see the certificates of authenticity.

Their is a form of non conflict diamond identification but certificates can be forged. The only true way too know your not wearing or recieving a conflict blood diamond is too not recieve or wear diamonds at all.

The shop should give certified diamond documents after its purchase. if you have certificate for that diamon or any jewelry then only it is said to be legal. if you get a diamond without its certification, its illegal. jewelocean.com provide certificate for each and every jewelries. this is their link jewelocean.com/

Dear Sally, Thank you for asking this question here. This issue is relevant, i can understand your concern and i will assist you to solve it. First , when you buy a diamond, it is always better (but not a must) to buy it certified with an external certificate of a well know gemological laboratory such as the GIA, EGL or HRD. It 's a fact that even the gemological labs, do not provide any information about the origin of the diamond, but only detailed information about the structure of the diamond and it characteristics such as shape, weight, color, clarity, cut and others. So getting a diamond certified does not really help you to identify if it is a blood diamond as they (labs) are not able to identify the source of the rough that the diamond was made from. Know where it came from: Try to do a research about your seller (retail shop or retail online shop). Most jewelry shops do not polish diamonds themselves but they purchase them from diamond dealers around the world. Those diamond dealers collect diamonds from many places and fir sure many of them have blood diamonds with that they even know about it. Blood diamonds are known as diamonds that come from Africa. What you should do? The only possible way to buy a NON blood diamond is to buy it from a source that have rough diamonds out of Africa. NON Africa Main sources of Rough diamonds are Russia (the biggest one), Canada & Australia. The trick is to buy a diamond directly from diamond polishers who are also retailers and that their source of rough is from Russia or Canada or Australia (such as myself). Recommendation: Rothem Collection are direct polishers of diamonds from Russian rough diamonds.
