Black Diamond Ring

Question: What does the "d" inside of a square mean on my silver black diamond ring?

I have a silver ring with three small black diamonds, and I just noticed what looks like a & quot;D& quot; inside of a square on the inside of the band. Does anybody know what this means? Thanks!

Most likely this is a Silver Mark, Hallmark, or a Maker 's Mark indicating who created the ring. Common marks to indicate the authenticity of silver are ".925 " or "S.S " which lets you know it is sterling silver. Other marks are a ".999 " which represents fine silver and a ".900 " which is made of less silver.
